the gay side

“You all know it well. The purple paradise where thirteen year olds dreams go to live!”

Nigel’s mother is relieved he’s not one of those gays that shove it in your face, that it’s nice it isn’t his whole personality, that he could walk down the street and to the outside eye, people would think he’s ‘normal’. But Nigel doesn’t necessarily think that’s a good thing.

So in rebellion, Nigel enlists flatmate Maggie to take the journey with him to Claires to get his ear pierced on the gay side.

This concept was first written and performed by Elijah Young for the 10th anniversary of Alphabetti Theatre. Future iterations of this project are in development.
